The perimeter wall at Rumah Kambera is complete
The perimeter wall of the future Rumah Kambera socio-medical community centre in Kawangu, East Sumba, is now complete. The work took a little over two months, almost two and a half, including the construction of a wooden lopo in the centre of the 4,200 m² plot. The completed wall marks out the site, but the buildings themselves are still ahead.
The next planned step is to level part of the northeast section. The current estimate is around 100 truckloads of sirtu (sand and gravel fill) to raise approximately one fifth of the land by 50–60 cm. Deliveries and levelling are still to come.
