Solar installation: technical proposal and Rotary gala support

On 15 October 2026, we received a technical and financial proposal from Smart Energy Tech for the photovoltaic installation planned at the new Rumah Kambera socio-medical community centre in Kawangu, East Sumba. The proposed system includes 20 new solar panels (12.6 kWp), 32 kWh of lithium battery storage, a hybrid inverter, the required electrical equipment, delivery, installation and commissioning.

Following a special 15% discount offered to Fair Future Foundation, the installation is estimated at approximately €12,600. We also plan an independent metal support structure for the panels, rather than placing them directly on the buildings’ roofs, to simplify maintenance and reduce the risk of water infiltration. This structure, to be built by our teams, is estimated at around €2,000. The overall working budget is therefore approximately €14,600.

An important step towards funding this installation: Sylviane and Joséphina, together with the Rotary Club Beaulieu Côte d’Azur, are preparing a charity gala on 23 April 2027. On 7 October, Sylviane confirmed that the photovoltaic project had been accepted by the seven-member gala committee and approved by the club’s leadership and members. On 15 October, we transmitted the Smart Energy Tech proposal to support their preparations. The gala is intended to raise funds for this installation, but the amount that will be collected is not yet known and no gala proceeds have yet been received.

For Rumah Kambera, reliable energy is not simply a sustainability feature. It is essential to operating the pharmacy, laboratory, medical equipment, communications and training spaces, particularly when the local electricity network is unreliable. Smart Energy Tech has already supported our work bringing electricity to isolated schools in East Sumba.
