Sirtu deliveries near completion: 75 of 100 truckloads received
Yesterday, Thursday 22 October 2026, we reached 75 truckloads of sirtu delivered for the new Rumah Kambera socio-medical community centre in Kawangu, East Sumba.
Today, Friday 23 October, we expect to receive the remaining 25 truckloads and complete the planned total of 100 deliveries. That is today’s objective. We will confirm the final count once the last trucks have arrived.
For now, the material is being deposited in many separate mounds across the lower, sloping section of the land. Next week, we plan to bring in an excavator to pull, spread and level the sirtu, distributing it over the area that needs to be raised. This is the stage that will turn the separate piles into a more even surface.
These works follow the topographic survey of the Kawangu site and prepare the ground for the future buildings. Receiving the material is one step; carefully levelling the terrain is the next. Both matter before construction can move forward.
