Dégagement des sites : 100 camions de sirtu prévus à partir du 20 octobre
Today, Sunday 18 October, we met on the Rumah Kambera construction site in Kawangu, East Sumba, to prepare the next stage of work.
On Tuesday 20 October, we plan to begin filling and raising the sloping section of the site using sirtu, a mixture of sand and gravel. We expect approximately 100 truckloads, with each truck carrying around 10 m³, or about 1,000 m³ of delivered material.
The estimated cost of the sirtu and its delivery is IDR 22,500,000: 100 loads at IDR 225,000 each (approximately CHF 11 per load).
The trucks will deposit the material in successive piles across the working area. An excavator will then be hired to spread, distribute and level the sirtu over the section that needs to be raised. The estimated cost of the excavator for this work is IDR 7,000,000.
The total estimated budget for this stage is therefore IDR 29,500,000, approximately CHF 1,440 based on the indicative conversion used here. We expect the operation to take around ten days. These are planned works and estimated costs, not expenses already incurred.
